By far the biggest difference between the Q7 and SQ7 is the immense power offered by the SQ7, which is powered by a V8 and offers significantly more in the way of pace and dynamics than the V6-powered Q7. On top of that, while the SQ7 shares a largely similar interior as the Q7, it does come with a number of special touches, including sports-oriented seating, superior leather trim and other luxury touches. Both units offer seating for seven across three rows of seats, but it's really hard to miss the differences when you pit these two on the road against one another.
The heart of the Audi SQ7 is its 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine. It offers an imposing 320kW of power, and a maximum torque output of 900Nm, which is right at the upper echelon. With this sort of backing under the hood, the SQ7 can race from 0 to 100 km/h in around 4.8 seconds, which is quite the accomplishment for an SUV. If you love your V8s, the SQ7 is in rare territory considering a growing number of auto-makers have ditched the format. It's a good thing Audi reminds us how great a V8 car can be with the SQ7.
It wouldn't be an Audi if it didn't feature the German auto-maker's highly regarded Quattro all-wheel drive. That's our take, at least. The SQ7 comes with Quattro as standard, making for an authentic 4WD experience. It might not have the complete capabilities to go into extreme terrain, but this is one SUV that still powers through difficult conditions. The inclusion of dynamic all-wheel steering is complemented by adaptive air suspension and the Audi drive select system, which puts control squarely back in your hands.

Alfa Romeo has been hard at work refining the Giulia. The engineers in Turin have updated the infotainment, interior trim, and driver assists to make its beautiful sports sedan a better rival for its German foes – and they’ve done a pretty good job of it. But the more mundane, mainstream Giulia isn’t what the red-blooded Alfisti want to know about. They want...
