Audi TT
WIth so much choice across the Audi stable, the TT is arguably the sweet spot for those eyeing a sporty top-end car with all the bells and whistles, plus an exciting thrill to drive. This suave two-door coupe and convertible series gets an upgrade for model year 2021, with the TT’s two-litre turbo four-pot motor now possessing extra power and torque. This is focused at the entry-level variant, the 2021 TT 45 TFSI, which has 180kW of power and 400Nm of torque, an improvement on MY20 of 11kW and 30Nm respectively. Audi has also replaced the six-speed gearbox with a slicker seven-speed wet-clutch S-tronic dual-clutch transmission. At the top of the range, the 2021 TT RS boasts an imposing 294kW and 480Nm thanks to a big five-cylinder, making for a 0-100km/h time of just 3.7 seconds. This series is not only wicked fun, particularly given the stupendous handling of the TT, but it is high in amenity as well, packed with features and equipment that bring this unit to the forefront of cutting-edge technology. While much has been speculated about the future of the TT, there has never been a better time to buy one.

The first time we saw an Audi TT with RS badging, it appeared as if an engineer (perhaps even a bean counter) within the Ingolstadt establishment had decided it was something that ‘needed’ to be done to counteract the argument that the TT was a poser’s coupe. As opposed to planning for a stove-hot version of the TT from the outset. In the case of the 2020 Au...

So, you fancy Audi’s hot new TT RS coupe? Well, there’s one key question you need to consider before you commit $137,900 plus on-road costs: How’s your back? It’s not so much the TT RS is hard to get down and into, up and out of, it’s more the ride is harsh on even the most benign setting of Audi’s ‘Magnetic Ride Control’. Sure, those with strong cores and u...

When the Audi TT first arrived in 1998 it looked cute… seriously cute, like a car-version-of-a-koala cute. Then over the next couple of decades it grew out of that cuteness into something more menacing looking and the RS versions were well, Google 'drop bear' and you're pretty much on the money. Now the new TT RS is here looking more grown up and angrier tha...

I’m going to bet that if you went to primary school in Australia, among the Scottys, Maccas, DJs and Davos, someone wore the nickname ‘pocket rocket’ with pride. Small in stature maybe, but the ‘rocket of the playground made up for it with speed, agility and that legendary epic run at downball that went the whole of recess. So I’m told. Bottom line, being at...
