With acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds, the Audi RS5 is staggeringly quick. That sort of performance is normally reserved for the top-end supercars, and while the RS5 is definitely a luxury performance unit, it is punching well above its weight here in fighting with such tenacity and raucous power. Of course, with the benefit of Quattro all-wheel drive, and a barnstorming 2.9-litre twin-turbo motor, the upside to the RS5 shouldn't come as any surprise, but it is among the quickest sedans in its class.
In a former life, the RS5 made do with a thunderous 4.2-litre V8 engine, but nowadays it sports an efficient, slick and sporty twin-turbo engine. The 2.9-litre V6 motor pumps out a whopping 331 kW of power, which is equivalent to 454 horsepower, and also comes with 443 pounds per foot of torque, or 600Nm. The V6 engine is commanding and decisive, boasting significant capabilities that have to be seen to be believed. It is a credit to the design and engineering team at Audi, which has delivered a dazzling engine right here.
If you're in the market for an Audi RS5 coupe or hatch, first things first, great choice! You will need to keep an open mind when it comes to your budget, however, because the RS5 retails for a little over $150,000 based on Audi's Suggested Retail Price. What's more, that price is before the inclusion of on-road costs like stamp duty, dealer delivery fees and the luxury car tax, so your final driveaway price will be a fraction higher.
