Nissan Pathfinder FAQs

PMC Says... 7.5 / 10

Nissan Pathfinder Your family outings could soon become a whole lot easier thanks to the Nissan Pathfinder. Offering seven seats, this large SUV has an astute blend of airiness, equipment, performance and reliability. Across the deep range there are front-wheel and all-wheel drive variants, with the latter providing versatility by way of switchable distribution of power. Beyond that, there’s petrol-electric hybrid choices available, which rely on a 2.5L engine and electric motor. It may be dearer than the straight petrol option, however it’s far stingier on fuel. That said, the petrol versions boast far greater towing capacity, at 2700kg versus 1650kg. The continuously variable transmission used across the line-up is decisive and forthcoming, which in combination with a firm suspension setup, makes driving feel steady and untroublesome. Standard inclusions span from rear parking sensors, to tri-zonal air-con, auto headlights, infotainment, keyless operation and more. At the upper end of the series there are added perks like AEB and blind-spot monitoring. What is most apparent however, is the voluminous room inside the cabin, especially once you’ve sat inside some of the other SUV candidates on the market. That alone may be enough incentive for some, but with all the other benefits mentioned above, it’s an easy sell.

Nissan Pathfinder Review

My first car was a Nissan Tiida. It was a fuss-free hatchback that felt like a go-kart to drive, and squeezed into tight car parks and narrow streets without breaking a sweat. Flash forward a decade and I'm reviewing the Nissan Pathfinder – a car that couldn't be further from the trusty Tiida of my teen years. If the Tiida represented my carefree, no-frills,...

The Nissan Pathfinder might be a big, practical seven-seat family SUV, but now it can be had in a darker and more menacing flavour. Essentially a cosmetic upgrade in the same vein as the X-TRAIL and Navara N-TREK variants, the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder N-TREK differs in its availability – the dark N-TREK treatment is offered across both 2WD and 4WD ST+ and ST-L...

Do you like Nissan's Pathfinder yet find it lacking a certain something? Masculinity perhaps, musculature, or just a sense of menace, rather than middle-of-the-road nice-ness?  If you've always hankered after a seven-seat family hauler with a mean streak, or at least a mean look, then you’re going to love the Pathfinder N-Trek special edition. So, what makes...

The Nissan Pathfinder's multi-generational history in Australia has been an inconsistent one, a journey over which more than 70,000 units have been sold. In the 1990s it was a refined answer to rough-and-tumble off-road rivals, while in the 2000s it morphed into a utilitarian 4x4 when its enemies had become soft monocoque crossovers. The current iteration bo...

The previous-generation Nissan Pathfinder was the default choice for buyers who didn’t want a Toyota badge, but needed a big family car capable of towing and going off-road. That all changed with the fourth-generation Pathfinder, which swung its focus to become an American-focused SUV. Its purpose changed from an off-roader capable of towing to more of a cus...

The Pathfinder seven-seat SUV is the latest Nissan model to gain a special-edition N-Trek variant, after the Navara ute and X-Trail medium SUV. The N-Trek package adds a host of sporty exterior trim enhancements to the V6 petrol Pathfinder ST+ and ST-L variants, with a choice of two- or four-wheel-drive traction. These include a blackened front grille and si...

One quick click and I was put in touch with the dealership sales manager who provided excellent service. No need to talk to sales people who are not the decision makers in the dealership.
