A marked improvement on the already impressive four-cylinder A5, the S5 brings greater depth and substance to the table. As you may have imagined, it is a comprehensively sportier experience, packing greater dynamics, without necessarily overdoing it either. By that we mean, the S5 is still very much the sort of upmarket, statesmanlike car that offers a great deal of finesse and swankiness. It embodies refinement through a mature offering, and it's an elite frontrunner in this category.
Like other German cars, the Audi S5 is on the dearer side when it comes to ownership costs. You can expect to pay a premium for parts and repairs on an S5, owing to the fact this is an upmarket vehicle requiring imported parts. On the other hand, at a price of $122,200 plus on-road costs, the convertible edition of the S5 3.0 TFSI Quattro is the top-spec model in the company's line-up. One thing to be aware of is the fact the Audi S5 is only available with a petrol engine, but that motor sure makes for an adrenaline-fuelled ride.
