Scoring a mid-life update, the 2021 Audi Q2 enters showrooms full of features that make this premium compact SUV a favourite. In fact, this model was the fifth best-seller from the German auto-maker’s range in 2020, and that comes after only being released in 2017. Changes to the MY21 Audi Q2 include the upgrade of the engine in the entry-level FWD 35 variant to a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, while the AWD 40 variant keeps its sharp and punchy 2.0-litre turbo motor. With a slightly more accessible price-point than the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA, the Audi is an eye-catching proposition in the luxury end of town. And the news gets even better considering some of the upgrades for model year 2021. The 35 variant receives 18-inch alloys, heated exterior mirrors, improved sat-nav with a larger 8.3-inch screen, and a smart key. Similarly, the 40 variant benefits from 18-inch alloys, but its perks extend to S Line cosmetics, and drivetrain tuning configurations via Audi drive select. All the while, the duo retain seven-speed dual-clutch auto gearboxes, LED headlights, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, leather-appointed upholstery, wireless phone charging, alongside Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For an extra serving of horsepower, don’t miss the SQ2, which packs an almighty punch and does it with aggressive sports styling. As you might have sensed, the willing and highly capable Q2, and the potent SQ2, offer a whole lot of car for what is a tidy price.
