With a number of different versions to choose from, each offering varying levels of premium trim, features and body type, prices for the Mercedes-Benz C200 vary greatly. You can expect the entry-level C200 sedan to go for at least $66,900, which is the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price. Conversely, for the top-of-the-range C200 convertible, Mercedes-Benz advises that prices start from $94,100. Meanwhile, wagon prices begin at $69,500, with the coupe available from $71,900.
The C200 might be among Mercedes-Benz's entry-level options to step into its luxury marque brand, but you would be none the wiser, likely mistaking this for a top-of-the-line model. Like everything Mercedes-Benz produces, the attention to detail and craftsmanship is high, the features are in abundance, comfort is supreme, and performance is never found wanting. Of course you could look at the BMW 3 Series or Audi A4 instead, but when the perfect car is in front of you, why go to all that hassle?
Both fantastic cars, one little thing will make it easy for you to decide which model to opt for. Mercedes-Benz no longer produces the C180, which means the only versions you will find in the Australian car market are second-hand vehicles from at least five years ago or more. With this in mind, even with the prospect of an affordable second-hand C180, it is a hands-down decision to opt new and go for the C200 instead. You'll be treated to all the latest cabin technology and safety aids, plus a vastly improved level of engine efficiency, with commanding performance and ride comfort.
