• Can you still buy VW Beetles?

  Well, you can still buy a Volkswagen Beetle, however, your only option these days is in the second-hand market. That's because VW ceased production of the Beetle, so there are no more units being produced. Finding a second-hand Beetle is no easy feat as well, so if you are looking for a funky hatch with personality, why not take a look at other options like the Mini Cooper, Fiat 500 or the Ford Fiesta.

• Why did they stop making VW Beetles?

  The end of the line for the VW Beetle came about because of a change in consumer preferences. In recent times, the Beetle has been at the mercy of a decline in demand, with small cars becoming less sought-after in the eyes of new car buyers. With more and more motorists eyeing utes and sports utility vehicles, it simply became a case where Volkswagen no longer saw a future for the Beetle given the slump in demand.
