Find out the Volvo XC40 2020 price today!
The Volvo XC40 is definitely worth its asking price if you value quality from a premium brand. This model scooped up the Wheels Car of the Year award in 2019, so it's certainly rated highly within the industry. It's also known for being one of the most reliable compact SUV models going around, so you're not just paying a premium for those luxurious touches, features and cavernous space inside the cabin, but also for the peace of mind associated with immaculate build quality. Volvo is a pioneer in vehicle safety, with high-end performance capabilities. The Volvo XC40 redefines the compact SUV stereotype, this is one great car to call your own.
The newest Volvo XC40 ranges in price from $46,990 for the basic trim level XC40 T4 Momentum (FWD) through to $64,990 for the range-topping XC40 Recharge PHEV (FWD). In between you'll also find two all-wheel-drive variants, the T4 Inscription (AWD) and T5 R-Design (AWD). These prices are based on the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price, while the on-road price range in Australia starts from just over $52k up to $72k.
While you might think the Swedish manufacturer Volvo produces the XC40 in its own backyard, the XC40 is actually made in Ghent, Belgium, in addition to China, where Volvo's parent company, Geely, is based. Volvo has production and manufacturing plants in various locations across the world, including Sweden and the US, each of which serves a different purpose in the assembly line.
We’ve all heard the EV rhetoric, we’ve seen the countless overseas reveals, often paired with overhyped ambitions. But for Volvo, it seems like 2020 is really shaping as the year its electric future materialises locally. A case in point is the new Volvo XC40 T5 PHEV (plug-in hybrid). The Swedish marque already has the coveted XC90 plug-in hybrid cemented wit...
View ReviewLet’s talk how it drives because that’s what everyone’s curious about, and to be honest it’s dreamy. It’s silent when it’s running on electric, which is one of my favourite things about it, and it’s quick off the mark - again, thanks to its electric motor, which makes it super agile in traffic and also has good power at high speeds so it drives really well a...
View ReviewThe original Audi Q3 was a big success story for the German brand, selling in its millions globally and reaching nearly 20,000 sales locally. To retain its sales crown in Australia, the newly arrived second-generation Q3 needs to topple the relatively new Swedish kid on the block – the Volvo XC40. The XC40 has been a worldwide hit since it debuted in 2018, c...
View ReviewThe Volvo XC40 aims to be different in a world of same-same SUVs. Not only in design, but in terms of packaging – and now, drivetrain offering. Volvo now offers a plug-in hybrid version of every SUV it sells, with a fully-electric version of the compact XC40 soon to follow. What you’re looking at here is the (deep breath) 2020 Volvo XC40 Recharge Plug-In Hyb...
View ReviewVolvo’s first small SUV is an exceptionally stylish premium crossover, with an innovative interior design and a choice of turbocharged petrol powertrains. It’s great fun to drive around town and on the open road, with all-wheel drive adding traction on slippery surfaces. The XC40 was crowned the 2019 Wheels Car of the Year. A 9.0-inch central infotainment sc...
View ReviewI've found the Volvo XC40 to be a wonderful car to drive. The steering is beautifully light at low speeds and the seats are extremely comfortable. I especially love the heated steering wheel and hands-free boot opener. The only downside is the premium petrol required which makes driving costs very high. How I would have loved an hybrid! I can't understand wh...
View ReviewI've found the Volvo xc40 to be a excellent car very smooth to drive and roomy enough to take all my stuff. Thanks to price my car for a great deal and a fuel voucher cheers Frank
View ReviewVery safe and luxurious car that I enjoy driving and just sitting in it. Long drives are comfortable and fantastic cocoon feeling. Petrol consumption could be better but it is a heavy car. I would buy it again.
