Find out the Volvo XC40 2021 price today!
The Volvo XC40 is definitely worth its asking price if you value quality from a premium brand. This model scooped up the Wheels Car of the Year award in 2019, so it's certainly rated highly within the industry. It's also known for being one of the most reliable compact SUV models going around, so you're not just paying a premium for those luxurious touches, features and cavernous space inside the cabin, but also for the peace of mind associated with immaculate build quality. Volvo is a pioneer in vehicle safety, with high-end performance capabilities. The Volvo XC40 redefines the compact SUV stereotype, this is one great car to call your own.
The newest Volvo XC40 ranges in price from $46,990 for the basic trim level XC40 T4 Momentum (FWD) through to $64,990 for the range-topping XC40 Recharge PHEV (FWD). In between you'll also find two all-wheel-drive variants, the T4 Inscription (AWD) and T5 R-Design (AWD). These prices are based on the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price, while the on-road price range in Australia starts from just over $52k up to $72k.
While you might think the Swedish manufacturer Volvo produces the XC40 in its own backyard, the XC40 is actually made in Ghent, Belgium, in addition to China, where Volvo's parent company, Geely, is based. Volvo has production and manufacturing plants in various locations across the world, including Sweden and the US, each of which serves a different purpose in the assembly line.
While most established carmakers are talking big on electrification, none are committing to it as wholeheartedly as Volvo is. The company seems intent on becoming a Swedish Tesla, saying that fully half the vehicles it sells globally will be full EVs as soon as 2025, while the remainder will be either hybrids or PHEVs. So, while the 2021 XC40 P8 Recharge is...
View ReviewVolvo is transforming its brand in Australia, selling only electrified vehicles from mid-2021. This point will mark the arrival of the Swedish car-maker’s first EV, a full-electric version of the Volvo XC40 – the prestige small SUV that’s a former carsales Car of the Year winner and, at the top of the range, has a plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) version we’re...
View ReviewThe Volvo XC40 - the Chinese-owned Swedish car company's debut in the compact SUV segment - was a hit from the get-go. Stylish, refined, ever-so-cool, and yet not pricey enough to have to go up against the other Euro competition, it kept Volvo's contemporary image intact. A couple of years later, the XC40 T5 PHEV arrived, before the name was changed to the r...
View ReviewThe world of the compact, up-market European SUV is a competitive one. You can shop from Germany (Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz), England (Jaguar), or even Germany-via-England (Mini), but even among such storied brands, it’s the option a little further to the north that impressed our Drive Car of the Year judges the most. The near 100-year-old Swedish brand (Volv...
View ReviewI've found the Volvo XC40 to be a wonderful car to drive. The steering is beautifully light at low speeds and the seats are extremely comfortable. I especially love the heated steering wheel and hands-free boot opener. The only downside is the premium petrol required which makes driving costs very high. How I would have loved an hybrid! I can't understand wh...
View ReviewI've found the Volvo xc40 to be a excellent car very smooth to drive and roomy enough to take all my stuff. Thanks to price my car for a great deal and a fuel voucher cheers Frank
View ReviewVery safe and luxurious car that I enjoy driving and just sitting in it. Long drives are comfortable and fantastic cocoon feeling. Petrol consumption could be better but it is a heavy car. I would buy it again.
