Nissan's sweeping X-Trail series is a great showpiece that speaks of the brand's quality, a factor that is exactly why this model has been one of its most successful cars down under. The X-Trail has a large and cavernous cabin complete with no shortage of storage options. It's a hard-working and dependable choice to meet all your daily commuting needs, and if there is one area where the X-Trail excels, you'll find that inner-city driving is made to feel effortless. The CVT and electrically-assisted steering make this a tidy and sharp car to drive, perfect for the family and with its own adventurous spirit.
The Nissan X-Trail is available in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel-drive, with a large number of variants catering to each configuration. Although equipped to tackle light off-road conditions, the X-Trail is not considered a comprehensive 4x4 designed to tackle harsh conditions. If that's what you're after, you may want to look at the likes of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Suzuki Jimny or the Isuzu MU-X.
Whereas the Qashqai was once designed to excel in an urban environment and the X-Trail was pitched as a versatile unit that could tackle the countryside, the two are much closer today. Similar from a design perspective, the X-Trail differentiates itself with a larger and more-spacious cabin complete with extra leg and head-room, not to mention a significantly larger boot. This makes it a more suitable choice for a larger family seeking practicality to meet their week-to-week needs. In contrast, the Qashaqi, despite a more affordable entry-point, has a slightly more sporty dynamic to the ride with more assuredness in the corners. They're both great cars, just in their own ways.

The speedometer is about 10% out had to buy a sat navman to know what speed you are actually doing. Washed the car recently and found out you can’t lift the wipers out of the way to clean the windscreen, they hit on the bonnet. Otherwise I am happy with the car.
