Nissan Patrol FAQs

PMC Says... 7.7 / 10

Nissan Patrol Every so often you catch wind of a step change in a vehicle, which leans away from its predecessors. The latest Nissan Patrol represents a conspicuous departure from past models, and it’s all the better for it. Headlining this versatile SUV is an automatic 4WD system, which allows drivers to sit back and let the vehicle take the initiative when deciding which drive mode to activate. Furthermore, the 4WD mode is integrated with dual-range gearing and rear differential lock, facilitating deep off-road adventures. Nissan has incorporated a generous serving of equipment and safety features, with active safety aids like lane-departure and forward-crash warnings fitted to the premium Ti-L variant. Given the sheer size and weight of the Patrol, a hearty dose of power is necessary. Luckily, an enormous V8 drives each version. Partnered with independent suspension and light steering, it makes for an aggressive unit. But for its fight and combativeness, there is profound storage capacity, visibility, room and comfort. It may have been some time coming, but hands down this is the best Nissan Patrol yet.

Nissan Patrol Review

If you’ve read any of our recent reviews, you’ll know we rate the 2020 Nissan Patrol highly. In fact, even the first iteration of the Y62 stacked up well, especially value-wise, with the recent facelift ensuring it looked sharper and more contemporary. On paper at least, the only real issue – as noted in my most recent review – is the fact we don’t get the b...

The Nissan Patrol needs little introduction. It is an off-road icon and through its various generations has had a firm band of followers for decades. In more recent years, some of those followers have been frustrated due to a lack of turbo-diesel powertrain options and what’s been seen as a trend towards ‘luxury SUV’ rather than ‘pukka 4x4’. Some of that ang...

Looking for a large SUV that will take you off-road? You’ve come to the right page. The Nissan Patrol is exactly that. Very large, and very much an off-roader. With seven seats and a large boot, it functions better than most large SUVs for bigger families, but how does it fare in the city and suburbs?  I test drove the Nissan Patrol Ti-L which is the top-of-...

It's a name that dates back over 50 years, and while it may not be as iconic as 'Land Rover' or 'Land Cruiser', 'Nissan Patrol' is synonymous with that go-anywhere adventure spirit that has made Australia just that little bit smaller. The 2016 Nissan Patrol Ti seeks to embody that spirit for a more modern generation of drivers. Bigger, more comfortable, and...

As Australians look to explore more of this great land of ours while overseas travel is on ice, sales of big SUVs like the 2021 Nissan Patrol have taken off. The Nissan Patrol blends off-road ability with towing capability and easy long-distance touring, so it’s not hard to see while so many buyers are flocking to it. A recent facelift of the Patrol brought...

THERE’S no doubting that one of the best things about Nissan’s Y62 Patrol is its VK56 V8 engine. No matter what side of the petrol versus diesel debate you sit on, you can’t help but smile when you plant your boot in a Patrol to unleash the full 298kW of power and the big wagon roars towards the horizon. While the factory performance is bloody good, that doe...

One quick click and I was put in touch…

One quick click and I was put in touch with the dealership sales manager who provided excellent service. No need to talk to sales people who are not the decision makers in the dealership.
