• Is the XUV500 a 4x4?

  The XUV500 was sold locally with the choice of both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants. With that said, this unit is not your off-road warrior type of 4x4, rather, an SUV that has some solid footing on tricky terrain. If you want something with true 4x4 capability, turn your attention to brands like Jeep and Toyota, which are known for delivering exceptional off-road vehicles. But if you can make do with an AWD option instead, the XUV500 ticks that box.

• Is the XUV500 a 7 seater?

  While the XUV500 has been offered as a five-seater in overseas markets, in Australia, it was a seven-seat model. That means plenty of room for the whole family, without compromising on space or comfort either. Because you can no longer find the XUV500 on sale locally, you might have to consider other seven-seat models like the Hyundai Palisade, Mazda CX-9, Haval H9 or the Ford Everest.

• Is the XUV500 discontinued?

  The XUV500 was discontinued following the release of its successor, the XUV700. The XUV500 enjoyed a stellar ride, with Mahindra launching the SUV all the way back in 2011, and even treating the unit to two major mid-cycle updates during its tenure.
