For a good compact or medium-size SUV, the Ford Escape is a trusty and solid choice. With the backing of a lively and dependable engine, as well as dynamic handling attributes, the Ford Escape is a blast to drive. But for the family, it's also comfortable, with sizeable room for everyone to feel at ease, solid infotainment, and ample cargo space to accommodate the most-diverse weekend plans. As a bonus, this is one SUV that really thrives in a number of different environments, so there is great value for money here.
While it might be the case overseas in certain markets that the Ford Escape is being discontinued, down under it is a different proposition, as new car buyers have been greeted with a new iteration of the highly-popular mid-sized SUV. For the time being, this is one model that looks likely to see ongoing success in Australia, with motorists flocking to SUVs and intense competition driving ongoing improvements and greater all-round value.
Reliability is a strong point for the Ford Escape, however, as with any car, longevity will be heavily influenced by the nature of your driving habits and how well you keep on top of maintenance requirements. If you consider how the 'average' Escape fares, then you can probably expect to see about 12 years of life from this mid-sized unit. Once you start to tackle more tricky driving conditions and environments, you're probably looking at a shorter lifespan of about 250,000 kilometres.
