A year on from its initial release in Australia, the revitalised Hyundai Sonata remains a fully-loaded single-model affair, with the N Line carrying the torch for the marque. Plans to release a 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated Sonta and a 1.6-litre turbo four-pot were shelved, which means this high-performance 2.5-litre turbo variant is the standalone name on offer. But that has also allowed Hyundai to develop a really well-rounded car, one that oozes quality from top to bottom. It is as spacious as you would expect from an upmarket sedan, which means plenty of boot space, a comfortable level of head and leg room, as well as great practicality across the board. Elsewhere, the Sonata N Line offers more power and torque than the likes of the Skoda Octavia RS and the top-spec Mazda 6, with a 0-100km/h time of just 6.2 seconds. It is laden with features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen system, sat-nav, DAB+, heads-up display, 19-inch alloys, paddle shifters, heated front seats, sunroof, LED headlights, auto-wipers, powered rear sunshade, and comprehensive safety aids. While these features may cater to the family, it is the sheer level of engagingness that is likely to appeal most to drivers.
