Hyundai Sonata
Making it the second N-Line sedan to arrive down under throughout 2021, the new Hyundai Sonata, now available in just the one sports-oriented guise, is a major accomplishment for the South Korean brand. It has delivered an imposing unit right here, dispensing with past perceptions that the Sonata may have been a little on the dreary side. Now you have a powerful, edge-of-the-seat sort of sedan, with a striking exterior, suave interior, and exciting drive dynamics. The leather seats inside the Sonata N Line are gorgeous, shaped beautifully for ergonomic support, partly trimmed in Alcantara, and with both heating and motorised controls. Inclusions run deep, things like 19-inch alloys, dual-zone climate control, active cruise control, keyless operation, auto-wipers are standard, as is a 10.25-inch dashboard, DAB+, Bose stereo system, launch control, and advanced safety. Thanks to a 2.5-litre turbo four-pot, the Sonata N Line pumps out 213kW of power and 422Nm of torque, with the engine mated to a new eight-speed dual-clutch auto transmission that is slick in every way. It’s a good thing traction control is included because the Sonata can really muster up some pace, characterised by brisk acceleration, accurate steering, and a planted suspension set-up. A niche option for those tired of standard sedans, the Sonata N Line makes a grand impression.
