The Mazda 6 is among the best of the bunch as far as passenger cars, and it doesn't earn that tag lightly. Offering a large dose of premium touches that many of its rivals wouldn't go astray in copying, the Mazda 6 is a gorgeous, capable and efficient vehicle that will win over your heart and mind. Few cars in this sort of price-range come with as comprehensive an offer as that of the Mazda 6, not to mention, a number of styles from which to choose.
A perennial favourite in the new car market, the Mazda 6 is back and ready for another big year! This mid-size sedan and wagon range has recently seen its price tweaked to reflect the brand's decision to tailor its cars towards a more upmarket offer. But don't let that deter you from taking a closer look, because in every which way, the Mazda 6 is a fantastic car representing supreme value and broad-based appeal.
Generally speaking, the Mazda 6 is a stellar car with an enviable reputation when it comes to build quality. Recently, a small number of models from the Mazda 6 range were caught up along with some of the brand's other models in a recall dealing with a computer software glitch that had the potential to lead to engine stalling. Beyond that, however, it has mainly been older models, primarily from 2008 and 2014, where the transmission was prone to issues, but this is but a distant memory now given the improvements and refinement across the Mazda 6 since then.
In the rapidly shrinking mid-size passenger-car segment, the upgraded 2019 Mazda 6 looks set to secure its position as the pick of the pack in an automotive market dominated by crossover SUVs. A truly beautiful car, both in appearance and appointments, the fairly substantial mid-cycle update to Mazda’s flagship sedan takes an already excellent car, a little further upmarket. A comprehensive second facelift of the current model, the Mazda 6 sedan and wagon get revised engines (a turbocharged 2.5-litre petrol and an upgraded diesel alternative), a slick new cabin layout, subtly updated design on the outside, and more standard tech. Its competition is not nearly as good looking, and the Mazda 6’s improved offering sees this medium-sizer taking the challenge not only to its segment peers but to its more expensive European rivals. The four-model line-up starts with the Sport and ends with the Atenza. The mid-range Touring is well balanced considering value for money, but you may also find yourself looking one step up to the GT. A refined car with a premium feel at a reasonable price, if you don't really need an SUV then there’s much to love in the new Mazda 6.
Through the entire 21st century revitalisation of Mazda there has been one constant; the Mazda6 medium-sized passenger car range. The replacement for the dowdy (by the end of its life) 626, the 6 has always been strong on style and civility. But performance? Well apart from the first generation’s sadly discontinued MPS, not so much. However, a 2018 update br...
The Mazda6 used to be just about everywhere. A classic go-to kind of car, it has been a constant presence in Mazda's stable of passenger cars. Mazda's well-timed shift to SUVs a decade ago could have seen the eventual decline and demise of the classic mid-size sedan, but here we are in 2018 and it's still going strong. The new Mazda6 isn't a ground-up redesi...
The Mazda 6 is starting to show its age, but is the addition of the turbo petrol engine enough to keep buyers interested?

Australians buy about 50,000 Mazda SUVs every year, but should more families consider the Japanese brand’s sole conventional wagon – especially in fully loaded flagship guise?
