No, at the time of writing in early 2022, the Rolls-Royce Phantom is still being sold in Australia, although of course it is a very low-volume shifter thanks to the brand's elite status and lofty price-tag. It is a slightly different story in the US, where production has changed over recent years to tweak the company's line-up, but even there, the Phantom is one of the models that Rolls-Royce has opted to focus on given the architecture of the platform shared with the Cullinan and Ghost.
You might want to brace yourself for this, but in terms of the Phantom range, the most-affordable variant is priced from $915,400 before all sorts of on-road costs like stamp duty, dealer delivery fee, registration, government taxes and charges, not to mention, other optional extras associated with the endless customisation on offer. Across the broader Rolls-Royce range, the Wraith is slightly more accessible at a starting price of $635,000 plus on-road costs, but by no means are they 'cheap'.
Although over the years many stories have been told about how Rolls-Royce vehicles are reserved for celebrities, or that you might need to pass all sorts of background checks, the reality is that anyone who can afford to buy a Rolls-Royce may do so. That in itself rules out the overwhelming majority of people. After all, this is a car that costs as much as a house. But as long as you can stump up the finances to attain a Rolls-Royce, there is nothing stopping you, even though there may be a wait time for customisations.
