First released in 2016, the McLaren 570GT was discontinued after 2019 in overseas markets, which meant that model year 2020 was the last time Australian new car buyers had the chance to pick up one of these hot units. While some observers speculated the McLaren GT was a direct replacement for the outgoing 570GT, it is in fact an entirely new model altogether, so not quite part of the same range.
If you're mulling these two gems then you're in a very fortunate position because they are both standout cars. The concept behind the 570S was to develop a racetrack-level car that offered an unparalleled driving experience. On the other hand, the 570GT, while a performance beacon in its own right, focused on providing drivers with a greater level of comfort. That also coincided with more space in the cargo hold of the GT, for added practicality.
You would probably be well aware by now that McLaren only puts the best potential in all its cars, and the 570GT was another example of this. Backed by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, the 570GT can sprint from 0-100km/h in as little as 3.4 seconds, and it has a top speed of around 328km/h. The engine configuration offers drivers up to 419kW of raw power, as well as 600Nm of maximum torque output. If you ask us, all that is impressive in anyone's books!
