The times have changed and locally, Mitsubishi has moved on from the days of the i-MiEV. This small unit was produced by Mitsubishi in the 2010s, and was phased out after about five to six years amid low demand. As we said, however, the times are changing, and electric vehicles are starting to gain traction, but the i-MiEV won't be a part of future plans, at least in Australia.
When it came to naming its electric vehicle, Mitsubishi opted for a slightly awkward if not convoluted name, although that doesn't mean it doesn't stand for something. The i-MiEV is an acronym for Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle, although much like a number of things in the 2010s, the "i" at the front was borrowed from the trend at the time.
