In terms of reliability, Ram trucks continue to improve, setting a benchmark for dependability. Their rugged and brawny nature makes them warriors on the work site, or anywhere else you take them. Every car brand has its fair share of mechanical gremlins, but the Ram series is a standout for being at the top of the rankings for reliability. Take care of the Ram 2500 and you will be rewarded with a heavy pick-up truck that works hard for you.
While the Ram 1500 is a very commendable light-duty truck, more than cut out for a number of difficult tasks, it still doesn't quite match up with the sheer grunt and capability of the Ram 2500, nor the 3500 for that matter, which are both considered heavy-duty trucks. With that, the Ram 1500 is more suited for light commercial work, whereas the 2500 and 3500 are tailored for towing and carrying heavy loads, owing to their greater torque, towing and payload capacities.
The 6.4 Hemi engine is a powerful, robust and dependable engine. It might not be quite as reliable as some of the high-end motors found in top-spec cars, however, this unit is streets ahead of most other engines. Boasting high power and torque that make light work of any challenging task, the Ram 6.4 Hemi is an engine that deserves all its credit as a solid workhorse.
