A year after it made its debut in the European market, the Volkswagen T-Cross has arrived down under, ready to shake things up in the small SUV segment. Both variants from the line-up boast the same workmanlike 1L three-cylinder turbocharged engine, mated with a seven-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission. While only charged with 85kW of power, the provision of 200Nm of torque makes this little unit a joy to drive. Compared with some of its peers in the Honda HR-V and Kia Seltos the T-Cross is smaller and narrower, but without an otherwise obvious feel to the variance.
