Toyota Prius FAQs

PMC Says... 7.4 / 10

Toyota Prius Toyota is no stranger when it comes to hybrid fuel technology, having sold well in excess of 10 million hybrid vehicles across more than 20 years. The centrepiece of its hybrid range has been the Prius, which comes available in three body formats. There’s also a second variant for each model, under the i-Tech banner, which offers sat-nav, LED headlights plus other accessories and trim. The 1.5L Prius c is the company’s compact hatch, the 1.8L Prius is a slightly larger hatch with five doors, and the 1.8L Prius v is a seven-seat, compact people mover. Each model offers its own distinct benefits. From the bargain basement price of the Prius c, to the commendable ride quality and extraordinarily efficient Prius, or the family-friendly Prius v with its extra seating and storage capacity. The interior of each model looks clean and modern, with recent improvements resulting in a more sensorial feel. Regardless of which model you pick out of the line-up, the car steers with ease and is also snappy enough out of the blocks for a vehicle as efficient as this. With a firm reputation for outstanding build quality, and a sales record to support it, the Prius is a great choice for inner-city, sustainable driving.

Toyota Prius Review

There was once a time when ‘Prius’ was the sole synonym for ‘hybrid’. In fact, at various points throughout its 23-year history, the Prius has been synonymous with plenty of words – ranging from ‘vegan’ and ‘environmentalist’, to ‘Hollywood celebrity’ and ‘smug’. “How do you know if someone drives a Prius?" internet memes have wisecracked, “Don’t worry, they...

Toyota Prius i-Tech Long-term road test (Final update) For so long, for so many people, Prius has been the go-to hero of green motoring. When it hit the Australian market around 15 years ago, rivals for the Prius were limited and so it found itself as the poster-child. Even with an expanding line-up of rivals, it still grabs attention – good and bad. The Pri...

The Toyota Prius has been around for 20 years and the concept hasn’t changed a lot in that time. It was pioneering for its day and indeed for the first decade, but how does it compete in the hybrid/electric motor field today?  I was interested because I’ve never driven a Prius before and I’m a fan of hybrids (or anything that contributes less emissions to th...

How about that colour? I told you, guys – aqua is back, baby! No, I’m not referring to the JDM moniker for this car (it's called the Toyota Aqua in Japan), but the Aquamarine paint on the just-updated 2018 Toyota Prius C, which actually gets more than just a lick of paint in this, its latest iteration. The new-look Prius C model sees a raft of changes as par...

Yeah, I know. The Toyota Prius may be the antithesis of an enthusiast car, but they’ve sold over six million units globally, and it’s well and truly the best-selling hybrid/electric vehicle in the world. The latest iteration of the Prius brings with it performance gains, plus a new platform. The Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) is a modular platform Toy...

Toyota’s hybrid hatch gets a subtle makeover for 2019, though the core offering remains intact. How does the 2019 Toyota Prius fare now it's halfway through its lifecycle? This is the first facelift for the fourth-generation Toyota Prius hybrid, with the most notable change being a cosmetic revision that ditches the divisive Dali-esque droopy headlight and t...

One quick click and I was put in touch with the dealership sales manager who provided excellent service. No need to talk to sales people who are not the decision makers in the dealership.
