The Mercedes-Benz E300 begins at a price of $117,400 plus on-road costs, which is the price-point for the model's entry-level coupe. The convertible model is dearer, coming in at $130,900 before on-road costs. Mercedes-Benz now also offers a hybrid edition, which is available within this price range. So whatever your preference, the E300 comes with ample choice, and that's before you consider optional extras.
The Mercedes-Benz E300 runs in two different configurations, with both featuring a premium turbo-charged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. This engine offers 190kW of power at 5800–6100 rpm, as well as 370Nm of torque at 1800–4000 rpm. Meanwhile, the hybrid option pairs the same turbo engine with an electric motor to provide variable functionality and improved efficiency.
With the ability to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a little over six seconds, the E300 is certainly no slouch. However, if you are looking for something with out-and-out power and agility, you have other options to consider from the Mercedes-Benz range. Nonetheless, comfort is a really stand-out in the E300, as is the wealth of features and overall amenity. If you're still not convinced and speed matters most, the E63 is a step above, as are any of the AMG variants built for race track performance.
