Despite a shake-up in the LS range, the 600h has managed to keep its place atop the line-up, but with a starting price in excess of $200k, this is one car that will need to be ordered on an individual basis. It retains the monstrous 5L V8 engine that otherwise was the source of revitalisation in the series, but it still comes with hybrid capacity as well. Given the sheer size and weight of the LS600h, that giant motor is a godsend, but even more critically, the inclusion of an all-wheel drive and multi-link front and rear air suspension setup pays dividends for the sake of traction and grip. The build quality of this sedan is exceptional, which is something that Lexus has become renowned for. Something else that Lexus is good at doing is fitting its vehicles with a wealth of gear, from driver fatigue technology, to pre-collision safety mechanisms, active cruise control and a host of other niceties. Within the confines of the stunning cabin, which has gaping room to stretch out, everything feels like it belongs there, rather than an afterthought. Besides that, ride comfort is particularly captivating, and in a car this grand, it only seems fitting that all your senses are treated with considered adoration.
