Touted as the first commercial van to be completely designed and built in China, the LDV G10 is a lightweight short wheelbase option, but also comes in a series of people-mover variants that can carry either seven or nine people. With its rather minimalist and simple design, it won’t necessarily win any awards for innovative aesthetics, however on price, it lands a striking first blow. The vans all include brake assist, roll movement intervention, keyless operation, park assistance, reversing camera and tyre pressure monitoring, with engines spanning from a 2L turbo petrol, to a 2.4L petrol and 1.9L turbo diesel. On the other hand, all the people mover models incorporate a 2L turbo petrol engine with six-speed auto transmission. Standard features extend to adaptive headlights, brake assist, auto wipers, xenon headlights plus more. Functionality is a persistent theme right throughout both ranges, whether it be the flexible seating, intuitive controls, abundant cargo space or valuable payload capacity. The LDV G10 is likely to garner attention for its affordable price, so if it’s the extra equipment you need, splash out on the higher-spec variants for a more comprehensive package.
