BMW Z4 It’s been long in the making but the 2019 BMW z4 has just been released, featuring an all new line-up and enhanced dynamics. For this first time, this third generation iteration features a new RWD platform that has been co-manufactured with Toyota, who will offer their own version of the car under the Supra badge. That sees the 28i and 35is versions retired, albeit their forceful display still remains an enticing proposition, especially if discounts emerge. The iconic roadster has a sleek and modern look, with a recut front and rear facade tying in well with sharp drawing lines along each side and the retractable soft top. Compared with the last generation z4, this one is longer albeit has a shorter wheelbase. Technology, including AEB and forward-collision warning, features prominently at the centre of the cabin’s presentation, with the completely new M40i variant sporting a digital instrument pack. Each turbo engine, be it the 3L V6 or 2L 4-cylinder variants in the 20i and 30i, feels pure and potent in partnership with the eight-speed gearbox. At the press of the pedal you’re off in no time with zero lag, and despite the shorter wheelbase and light frame, you’re never lacking grip and handling. In essence, steering is light and precise, while the animated ride feels pleasant in comfortable surrounds. Hot off the press, waste no time enquiring about the new BMW z4.

BMW Z4 Review

The market for two-seat drop-top fun machines is a fickle one. It's a segment driven by fashion, and one that’s not universally popular (or suitable) around the world. If nothing else, BMW deserves a raucous high-five for bringing the current Z4 to life, even if the cooperation with Toyota for the reborn Supra was instrumental to this. It does seem a little...

Let’s get it out of the way right up front. Yes, the BMW Z4 provides the building blocks that underpin the Toyota Supra. But to say the two are the same to look at or even drive is patently ridiculous. Toyota arrived at the Z4 party way later than it chooses to admit. So, what you’re looking at here is 100 per cent Bavarian at heart. Which is good as BMW has...

I remember the first Bond film I ever watched. I was about eight or nine years old, and it was GoldenEye on VHS. In that film, Pierce Brosnan drove a BMW Z3 convertible, which obviously oozed cool. I didn’t know at the time that it was just a little bit weird that he wasn’t driving an Aston Martin for the entire duration of the movie, but it didn’t matter, t...

It’s fair to say that when the technically related BMW Z4 and Toyota Supra sports cars were resurrected in 2018-2019, the long-awaited and hugely anticipated revival of the iconic Japanese nameplate overshadowed that of the German and its two-year sabbatical.  The cooperative gestation of the pair is both fascinating and well-documented, but the result lost...

Frustratingly, things don’t always go to plan. If they did, we wouldn’t have the all-new BMW Z4 parked next to a Porsche 718 Cayman. And it also wouldn’t be endowed with the meagre 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo. It is half-a-litre short on capacity and sans the essential topless ability we asked for when trying to secure a Boxster S for this comparison. Befo...

One quick click and I was put in touch with the dealership sales manager who provided excellent service. No need to talk to sales people who are not the decision makers in the dealership.
