The BMW iX3 is a battery-electric compact luxury crossover SUV produced by German auto-maker BMW. First unveiled in 2018 at the Beijing Motor Show, the car was intended to be designed as an electric version of the BMW X3. While that is still practically the same outcome, the model has been given its own sub-brand so to speak as part of BMW's 'I' range of electric vehicles. The iX3 is only available in rear-wheel-drive, so if you want a fully-electric luxury crossover SUV that boasts AWD, you might have to look at the Jaguar I-Pace, Audi e-tron, or the Mercedes-Benz EQC.
It certainly is! After much anticipation, BMW is finally starting to get the ball rolling on a host of all-new fully-electric models, and the iX3 is one of the first cabs off the rank to form an integral part of this line-up. This crossover SUV features a driving range of up to 460 kilometres, which is impressive by any stretch of the imagination. Look out for more electric cars from BMW over the coming years.
