The T-Cross is ideal small car for around town driving. Economical 3 cylinders and high off ground suits my wife mobility. Haven’t taken it for a long trip yet but looking forward to soon.
The T-Cross in R line spec is on the pricey side but the features and technology really put do help. It looks Okay, yes, it's VW conservative stodge styling but not butt ugly as some of it's competitors in my opinion. In the first longish trip of over 100km the fuel economy returned 4.0L/100Km that's nearly 59MPG and ranks as good as hybrid technology. Round town for short trips of less than 10km I still manage round the 6.0L/100Km. It's comfortable and practical and well worth a look. The 1.0L engine runs out of puff if pushed hard, but unless you still have a boy/girl racer driving it's a matter of adapting to the lack of vroom. For most people there is ample power to do what you need to do. Just don't expect to be dragging off Subaru WRX's at the lights. The widely reported start 'lag' is apparent when the auto engine kill is in place but once again it is being cognizant of that and releasing the brakes slightly so the engine is on and ready to go. This reduces the lag to a very minor annoyance. Overall I love it, It's comfortable, practical and does the job admirably.
