10 / 10My 5th Landcruiser. Solid reliable not reliant on a host of electronics. Having suffered the experience of a ford ranger being hopelessly stuck in a remote location through refusal to engage 4x4 and every warning light lit up. Ultimately recoved after 23 hours by a 79 Landcruiser which towed me 11 km to get out of trouble. Ford ranger 60,000km Automatic. HOPELESS IN LOOSE SAND NO clearance at front due to lower suspension arm acting as grader blade. I am adamant that any vehicle venturing off road MUST HAVE Manual 4x4 engagement. Ford checked the vehicle and declared that there was nothing wrong with it! Probably more information than you were expecting though I believe in telling it as it is.
