The last iteration of the Volvo S80 came with a 3.0-litre turbo V6, which offered a potent 224kW of power and 440Nm of torque. Paired with a slick transmission unit, the S80 provided drivers with loads of grunt and enough drive to get them out of any sticky situation. Sadly, the S80 is no longer available to new car buyers. but Volvo utilises turbo engines across its current line-up of vehicles, which means every variant packs a punch.
While it is a European brand, Volvo vehicles don't come with the same burden as far as expenses compared with other auto-makers from the region, including BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Nonetheless, as an upmarket brand, some would say that Volvos are great options, and closer to Audi and Renault vehicles in terms of maintenance costs. The S80 is no longer in production, but parts can be sourced from other models in the brand's line-up.
The S80 is no longer part of the Volvo line-up down under, with the car last on sale in 2018, before a few models were finally cleared the following year in 2019.
