Subaru WRX FAQs

PMC Says... 7.3 / 10

Subaru WRX Sports sedans don’t get as iconic as this, with the Subaru WRX holding a special place in the motoring hall of fame. It may be a small sedan, but don’t let that fool you, if anything its compact frame contributes to the blistering competence on show. Standard features entail auto headlights and wipers, cruise control, reversing camera, sports seats in the front and dual-zone climate control. If you’re a fan of manual cars, there is a limited-slip rear differential for enhanced cornering. On the other hand, CVT automatic variants are all fitted with active cruise control and the latest safety tech inclusions like AEB. You won’t miss the bold and audacious sports kit configured to each version, which looks like the WRX has just come out of a mechanic’s garage with the works. With its boxer engines sharing some similarities to those found in the Impreza, both the 2L and 2.5L units receive a tuning thanks to turbochargers that yield significantly more acceleration and grunt. Catering to this is a firm suspension setup designed for slick handling. In any other car it might feel a little labouring, but here the seating is braced with profound support to ensure comfort at all times. Add Subaru’s esteemed build quality to the mix and this is a car built for the aficionados. Let it take you to a new level of motoring greatness.

Subaru WRX Review

In an age of increasingly homogenised hot hatches, the 2018 Subaru WRX delivers an old-school approach to performance motoring.

When it first exploded onto the Australian scene, the mighty WRX offered the ultimate in cut-price performance, delivering neck-snapping 0-100km/h times for a fraction of the price of an equivalent European. I mean really, what was there not to love? Fast-forward 25 years, and its cult-like following continues, which is made even more remarkable by the fact...

It's 25 years since Japan gave birth to a turbocharged, all-wheel-drive sedan that would become a cult performance car. A classic, even. That would make perfect timing for the introduction of a next-generation Subaru WRX, though with the next all-new model not due until 2019 we’ll have to make do with an MY18 update. It still brings further proof that Subaru...

Humans are always seeking thrills in unlikely places. Whether we’re being crushed in a mosh pit, flung out of an aircraft, plunging over a waterfall or simply sat in a dark room having the wits scared out of us while munching popcorn, as long as that heart rate is increased we’re happy. The Ford Focus, Subaru Impreza and Volkswagen Golf are equally weird pla...

One quick click and I was put in touch with the dealership sales manager who provided excellent service. No need to talk to sales people who are not the decision makers in the dealership.

Definitely worth using Price My Car

I used Price My Car after speaking to a number of VW dealerships that flatly refused to negotiate anything off the price of the vehicle I wanted (car bought during Covid-19 & the great computer chip shortage of 2020-21). They hooked me up with a dealer who gave me a great price on the vehicle I wanted. They came to the table prepared to negotiate. I ended up saving nearly $8k off listed MRDP. Thoroughly recommend using Price My Car!
