You won't believe how great the Subaru BRZ is until you've experienced it for yourself. Not only is it one of the more affordable sports cars on the market, but it is truly exciting and captivating. With rear-wheel drive you won't need the out-and-out power found in some of the other sports cars packing more brutal force, but you will still have one capable and thrilling ride on your hands. What's more, the BRZ is stylish, reliable and tech-savvy - a complete winner.
Both the Toyota 86 and the Subaru BRZ are near-identical in terms of their overall package, which should come as no surprise given the two units were developed in unison under a joint effort between the two auto-makers. This means their mechanical underpinnings are the same, and you can expect the same level of performance. However, there are also some minor differences that you may want to consider if you are looking for a particular edge, albeit that comes from the fact there is an extra variant in the Subaru line-up, offering marginal performance improvements in terms of handling and ride dynamics.
The Subaru BRZ is a slick car, with punchy acceleration and sharp driving dynamics. With a quoted sprint time of 7.5 seconds or there abouts for 0-100km/h, this is an agile car, although it might not be quite the same pace as some of the sprinters available on the new car market. If you want something with genuine raw pace, but still a modest price-tag, consider the Kia Sprinter, otherwise, the Toyota Camry SX V6 is broadly comparable with the Subaru BRZ, if not a touch quicker.
