Find out the SsangYong MUSSO 2018 price today!
The SsangYong Musso relies on a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine that pumps out 133kW of power at 4,000rpm, and a maximum torque level of 400Nm, or 420Nm with the XLV option. Complete with a six-speed auto transmission, the Musso runs with a lean fuel consumption rating, at just 7.9-8.9 litres of fuel per 100km. What's more, the 4H/4L range also comes with part time 4x4, and auto-locking rear differential is included, providing loads of performance potential.
Turning the clock back around 30 years, and SsangYong established a technology partnership with Daimler-Benz to develop an SUV using Mercedes components, which then opened the door for the Korean company to use the German auto-maker's engines in a number of its vehicles. While that partnership was in effect for some time, today's SsangYong vehicles no longer use a Mercedes-Benz drivetrain, with in-house development proving to be part of the company's strategic direction in recent years.
Although they might not have the household name status as that of other brands, SsangYong's utes do a commendable job as a workmanlike vehicle that will serve you well. Equipped for light off-road duties, and with a comfortable cabin offering plenty of space and adjustment for the driver, SsangYong utes fit the bill in terms of versatility, and thanks to a sturdy engine and transmission pairing, they also deliver a solid showing on the road, for what is a very fair price.
The new SsangYong Musso puts to rest the car industry maxim that you can only ever launch a vehicle once. The implication is the first impression is the one that counts. Obviously, no-one has told the Korean brand, which is back in the market – again – with the Musso pick-up – again. But considering what it’s launching, it’s easy to ask why SsangYong didn’t...
View ReviewThe SsangYong Musso is the best Korean ute ever made. That may sound like incredibly high praise, but it’s undeniably true. That’s because there are no other Korean utes… yet. Hyundai and Kia are working on plans for a dual cab ute, but for now, the SsangYong Musso is the only pick-up from the peninsula. Far from being a workhorse built from the ground up fo...
View ReviewKorea’s SsangYong will return to Australia this November with a more sophisticated corporate structure, and a far less 'stylistically challenged' product range aimed at the market’s growth areas. The most interesting member of its line-up, the Musso, will tap into Australia’s inexhaustible appetite for dual-cab utes. What it lacks in badge cred, SsangYong ho...
View ReviewThe Musso is such good value as good as expensive branded four wheel drives. Has everything including heating and cooling front seats
View ReviewThe last 20yrs I have been adamant about the make of my vehicles, purchasing my last 3 new vehicles brand new from the same manufacturer and have been very happy over all. Our human nature is not to change if we are happy and comfortable. Saying all that, leads me to this feedback. I am very happy with my ssangyong musso, after service care has been above an...
