Some cars are discontinued because they didn't quite enjoy the success that their manufacturer had anticipated. Others because their day in the sun is over. In the case of the Yeti, it was largely a practical decision, with Skoda looking to instead realign its replacement, the Karoq, to be more similar to the VW Tiguan. So while it joins the large Kodiaq in the SUV category, it represents a car that shares more in common with the rest of the brand's ethos.
When it was sadly retired from the Skoda line-up, the Yeti was replaced by none other than the Skoda Karoq. It is a delightful car in its own right, boasting gorgeous looks, loads of charm and building on the expansive features list of its predecessor. It is a shame, however, that some of the individualism of the Skoda brand has been lost as part of the reshuffle, as there have been few mainstream cars as unique as the Yeti over recent years.
Although it is no longer in production, the Skoda Yeti established a solid reputation for being a reliable and dependable car. That makes it all the more a shame it has been retired from the auto-maker's line-up, although it should be said that Skoda brings a great level of attention to detail and quality in all of its cars. You will surely see a number of Skoda Yetis on the second-hand market, and provided they have been looked after, they are likely to offer a good second life for a new owner.
