Find out the Ram 1500 2021 price today!
The Ram 1500 starts from a price of $79,950 for the basic trim level Commercial 1500 Express (4x4). At the top of the range, the Ram Ute 1500 Laramie (4x4) will set you back to the tune of $109,950. Both of these prices are the manufacturer's suggested retail price, so be sure to bargain, and also set aside some extra money for dealer delivery, stamp duty and on-road costs.
Like every other car on the market, the Ram 1500 has been the subject of recalls, most notably two separate ones in 2020. These related to potential visibility issues as well as a manufacturing defect on a select number of vehicles where there was a risk that coolant could leak into the intake manifold and potentially lead to a fire. With the company quick to address these defects, you can be sure that Ram is all over the issue now. Otherwise, however, the Ram 1500 is a solid car built to handle a lot of rough and tumble thanks to its rugged, hefty and sturdy frame.
Ram was historically a part of the Dodge brand before being separated out as a unique marque to focus on pick-up trucks, while Dodge retained its focus on passenger vehicles and roadsters. Dodge was itself acquired by the Chrysler Group, which then merged with Fiat to form Fiat-Chrysler. More recently, however, Stellantis has become the parent company to Fiat-Chrysler after a mega-merger with French auto-maker Groupe PSA, making Stellantis the owner of Ram as well as a host of other brands.
Australia’s growing full-size pick-up market is now home to the 2021 RAM 1500 Limited. The Limited is the flagship of the latest ‘DT’ RAM fifth generation, which has been an award-winning success in the US since its 2018 launch. We now get it in Australia courtesy of a local conversion from left- to right-hand drive performed in Melbourne with full homologat...
View ReviewThe new-generation Ram 1500, designated the DT Series, has arrived. This is a modern utility vehicle in the true sense of the word: it’s able to tow 4.5 tonnes, it sports a grunt-heavy 5.7-litre Hemi V8, it has a very versatile load space and it’s equipped with a stack of safety tech – all of that in a premium package. I spent seven days with the Limited, t...
View ReviewAustralian customers can now get their hands on the 2021 RAM 1500. It’s as known as the DT generation, and sits above the existing DS Ram 1500 in the Australian range. It’s a similar strategy that Ram currently runs in America. DS has been the cheaper ‘classic’ option for a while. It’s an older platform, with less technology and features on offer. And, cruc...
View ReviewApart from the fully-laden 10-tonne Foden truck I drove to and from the wheat crops at my family’s grain-growing property to the silos as a teenager, the new 2021 Ram 1500 DT is by far the biggest vehicle I’ve ever driven on a public road. Measuring nearly 6.0 metres in length, almost 2.5 metres across (including the door mirrors), close to 2.0 metres tall,...

View ReviewNov 2020 1500 Express Quad Cab. Very nice to drive. Fairly economical. Average 15L/100kms combined. I haven't found parking too much of an issue. Plenty of power and sounds awesome when you put your foot down!
