Find out the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 2019 price today!
The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is targeted to the off-roading enthusiast in all of us, pitched to drivers at an accessible price-point and high on value. With outstanding build quality coming from the Triton base behind this SUV, you're also treated to a number of advanced safety aids, as well as dual-range selective 4WD functionality and a nimble eight-speed automatic transmission. Boasting a sporty suspension and more than 3 tonnes of towing capacity, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport leads the field.
After more than 3.3 million sales across the globe, and a near 40-year history behind it, the Mitsubishi Pajero is no more from 2021. As part of the reasoning behind the move, the brand cited its mid-term plans and cost concerns associated with the ageing tooling involved in the production of the Mitsubishi Pajero. Furthermore, Mitsubishi also pointed towards the current trend in the new car market favouring crossover recreational SUVs as opposed to specialty 4x4 off-roaders. In its place, the Pajero Sport will continue to be manufactured. The iconic Mitsubishi Pajero will finally reach the end of the road next year, as the Japanese car giant embarks on an aggressive cost-cutting mission.
Both the Mitsubishi Pajero and Pajero Sport are off-road 4x4 SUVs complete with dual-range functionality, although the Pajero is bigger in size and stature. The Pajero Sport has optimised and built upon the renowned framework and platform of the original, reducing the weight and improving the aerodynamics, which means that its 2.4-litre diesel engine is nearly as powerful as the 3.2-litre in the Pajero. Further to that, the Pajero Sport operates a slick eight-speed auto gearbox, offering a more fluid ride than the five-speed in the Pajero. The Pajero Sport runs smoother and quieter on road, while the Pajero is more firm and planted, becoming more dynamic off-road thanks to its fully independent suspension set-up. Rounding things out, the Pajero's bigger size makes for a more spacious cabin with far more legroom in the rear rows. Be quick though, the Pajero is soon to be phased out.
Gone are the days where where a towbar signified a blanket ability to tow anything this side of a tractor. The word 'Ute' usually underlined this offshoot of the great Aussie can-do attitude. Like most things these days, we've learned to be more careful, and if we're not we can get in big trouble. Figures like the current benchmark 3.5 tonne or 3500kg capaci...
View ReviewRather than put 3700km on one of our cars (a Tiguan Diesel or a BMW 440i), we opted to rent a car. At $440 for nine days and unlimited kilometres, why wouldn't you? And that was when the Pajero Sport GLS 7-seat came into our lives for 9 days. We were initially supposed to get a Forester, but due to issues with supply, we got an upgrade for the same money. Sc...
View ReviewTHE ute-based half-brothers, Holden Trailblazer and Isuzu MU-X, as well as the ute-based Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, are joined here by a new face in the segment, the SsangYong Rexton; although ,one that’s not without some family connection in Australia. SsangYong first appeared here in 1996 when its Musso wagon was sold out the side-door of Mercedes-Benz deale...
View ReviewThe Pajero Sports is turning out to be a great car. I bought it mainly for the extra space in the back than my previous smaller car, and the towing capacity for my camper trailer - it tows this with no trouble at all. I bought the 5 seater, as I didn't need 7 seats and wanted the extra room in the back and flat floor. I am disappointed that the 5 seater is n...
View ReviewHas proved to be the right car for me and gives me all i am looking for. It more than adequately handles the towing of my caravan, smoothly without any problems. Its quiet for a diesel but delivers the power when needed without high noise. Only negative are the Toyo tyres. They should look at changing them as they are bad in the wet when cornering or around...
