It's good news because yes, there will be a Mini Convertible in electric format in the near future. The news has come straight from Mini boss Bernd Korber, who confirmed the next-generation Mini will include an all-electric Convertible model to accompany the Mini electric supermini. The auto-maker is expected to team up with Chinese SUV maker Great Wall to take advantage of a new all-electric platform co-developed by the two companies. At this stage, signs point to an electric Convertible being released in 2025, but we'll have to keep watching until then.
As an offshoot of the BMW brand, Mini vehicles have always been built to a superb standard, which means impeccable build quality and reliability that will keep you going and going. Of course, with the level of attention to detail across every facet, that shouldn't exactly come as a surprise. After all, you do get what you pay for. The Convertible follows in the same vein as other high-profile models within the Mini line-up, but with all the amenity perks that come with a soft-top that you can enjoy on a perfect summer's day.
Although it hasn't received an ANCAP safety rating, the similarly-equipped Mini 3-Door Hatch received a four star safety rating in 2014, which suggests the Mini Cooper Convertible is also a safe unit. One only needs to look at the specifications list to validate that, with the Mini Convertible offering the following safety features as standard: autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection; parking sensors; adaptive cruise control; lane-departure warning; reversing camera; and traffic sign recognition.

I found the Mini S Cooper Convertible to be a good little zippy car. I really like the performance of it and the fuel consumption (6.9L in the city). There is a clear lack of storage inside the cabin though which is annoying me, there is nowhere to put a mobile phone or a purse.
