It is Mercedes-Benz’s all-electric version of the popular GLA small SUV. The EQA is still brand new to Australia, but already turning heads. New car buyers can choose between a FWD-configured variant in the EQA 250, or the AWD EQA 350. Entry-level features include keyless entry, dusk-sensing LED lights, auto-wipers, Mercedes-Benz’s high-tech MBUX infotainment system, wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. The EQA 250 is capable of producing 140kW of power and 375Nm of torque, while the EQA 350 turns things up a notch, offering 215kW and 520Nm thanks to its rear-mounted electric motor. In either guise, however, the EQA is a delightful car to drive. It looks and feels premium, and it has a genteel vibe on the road. While the entry-level EQA 250 might not have the out and out pace and dynamic like some other names in this sector, everything just feels orderly and in place, while the top-spec variant is accommodating for those with more discerning tastes when it comes to performance. We expect the EQA to be one of those names that becomes synonymous with a long history of success, so here’s your chance to get in early.
