• How much is a Mercedes E400?

  Mercedes-Benz no longer produces the E400, with the series bowing out in 2018. Nowadays, the E300 and E350 EQ hybrid are the nearest replacements for the discontinued E400, and prices for the duo vary considerably. As a starting point, however, the E300 range begins at $117,400 before on-road costs such as stamp duty, dealer delivery fees, registration and other government charges.

• How much HP does the E400 have?

  While it may no longer be available in the new car market, the E400 is a vehicle not found short in terms of power. It comes with a 3.0-litre turbo V6 engine, which had an output of 480Nm of torque at 1,600-4,000 rpm, and 245kW in power at 5,250 rpm. That translates to 329 horsepower, more than enough to make this a powerhouse on the road, and a thrill to drive.

• Is the E400 an AMG?

  In its own right, the E400 is not considered an AMG vehicle, with the models from that range produced by Mercedes-Benz's high-performance subsidiary. AMG runs as a separate business, hiring its own engineers, and working on specific contracts to fine-tune and develop performance-oriented Mercedes-Benz AMG vehicles. In some markets, the E400 was offered with optional extras that brought it closer to the AMG badge, however, for all intents and purposes those changes were limited.
