Find out the Mercedes-Benz E400 2017 price today!
Mercedes-Benz no longer produces the E400, with the series bowing out in 2018. Nowadays, the E300 and E350 EQ hybrid are the nearest replacements for the discontinued E400, and prices for the duo vary considerably. As a starting point, however, the E300 range begins at $117,400 before on-road costs such as stamp duty, dealer delivery fees, registration and other government charges.
While it may no longer be available in the new car market, the E400 is a vehicle not found short in terms of power. It comes with a 3.0-litre turbo V6 engine, which had an output of 480Nm of torque at 1,600-4,000 rpm, and 245kW in power at 5,250 rpm. That translates to 329 horsepower, more than enough to make this a powerhouse on the road, and a thrill to drive.
In its own right, the E400 is not considered an AMG vehicle, with the models from that range produced by Mercedes-Benz's high-performance subsidiary. AMG runs as a separate business, hiring its own engineers, and working on specific contracts to fine-tune and develop performance-oriented Mercedes-Benz AMG vehicles. In some markets, the E400 was offered with optional extras that brought it closer to the AMG badge, however, for all intents and purposes those changes were limited.
Andrew Chesterton road tests and reviews the new Mercedes-Benz E 400 with specs, fuel consumption and verdict. Forget engines, interior materials and even exterior design; there’s a new Ground Zero in the battle for premium sedan supremacy, and that’s on-board smarts. What began innocuously enough with automatic handbrakes and the slow death of the manual g...
View ReviewI don’t know whether having your mum and dad pine over a car makes it more desirable or not. My initial thought would be no, unless you’ve got particularly groovy parents. But that’s exactly what happened when I rolled up in the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E400 Coupe. It’s easy to see why they would – this thing is stunning to look at. It appears, at least on face va...
View ReviewWHAT IS IT? The fifth and final model to complete the Mercedes-Benz E-Class family alongside sedan, Estate, Coupe and All-Terrain. Just two variants will initially be on offer including the most affordable E300 and this; the E400 4Matic. Finding an Australian audience for convertible cars of any type has always proved a challenge regardless of the brand, but...
