Mercedes-Benz C250
While it’s no longer featured as part of the core line-up from Mercedes-Benz, the C250 bedded down its place as a versatile coupe, sedan and wagon over a number of years. Not only did it feature in different body formats, but it also came available as either petrol or diesel, with the choice of various engines adding another dimension as well. Still, even by today’s standards, this is a car that competes strongly with the current range, especially the serene cabin that has ample room, high quality materials and immeasurable amenity. Being at the forefront of safety, even Mercedes-Benz’s past models boast safety equipment that is ahead of many brand new vehicles. Drivetrain options vary from a 1.8L petrol and seven-speed auto in the coupe, to either a 2L petrol or 2.1L diesel mated to a nine-speed auto in the sedan or wagon. For all its combinations however, the C250 offers a refined driving experience that is underpinned by fluent gear shifts, decisive steering, balanced handling and silky ride comfort. You don’t always have to look to the newest model for everything you need, especially if you can score a deal in the process.
