At first glance you should notice the Mercedes-Benz Axor is a smaller truck than the Actros, some would even go so far as to say it is the baby brother of the Actros. Nonetheless, the differences are much greater than being just cosmetic, and it is largely attributable to the end use of each vehicle. The Axor, with a less powerful engine and focus on character, is intended for 'lighter' task and is often a sight at mid-size construction sites. In contrast, the Actros boasts more power and payload capacity, making it ideal for large projects and construction sites where heavy-duty usage is required.
The Mercedes-Benz Axor is a truck that was manufactured by Mercedes-Benz between 1999 and 2014, before it was subsequently retired from the local automotive market. The Axor is designed to slot in between the heavy-duty and top-spec Actros truck, and the rigid Atego trucks. Given its position in the market, the Axor was pitched towards fleet customers requiring a number of trucks to facilitate their day-to-day operations on the road.
