Mazda 2
The Mazda 2 is one of Australia’s most popular city cars, particularly among younger buyers looking for an entry point to the Japanese brand’s range. Launched in 2002, the Mazda 2 has continually improved since – in performance, value and standard features – becoming the favourite small hatch for the private buyer, thanks to its sharp-looking design, clever technology and quality interior setting. The 2019 Mazda 2 competes in the busy light car segment against the likes of the Volkswagen Polo, Toyota Yaris and Honda Jazz, but the Mazda 2 has always been towards the front of the class and nothing changes for this year and beyond. Available as both a sedan and hatch, the Mazda 2’s large range offers buyers choices from the solid-value Neo runabout up to the more luxurious Maxx, Genki and GT models. All options are well equipped by small-car standards, especially in safety terms and Mazda’s version of auto braking is standard throughout the range. An impressive small car that feels larger than it really is, anyone looking for a modestly-priced car with loads of street presence and style to burn should have the Mazda 2 high on their short list.

Let’s be clear from the outset about the one thing the 2020 Mazda GT hatch is not, and that is a Grand Tourer. What it is, is a city car, and now a rather expensive one. Mazda’s range of its popular city car has received a facelift and a boost in equipment. It’s also received a price hike across the range, a substantial one at that. Where previously the Mazd...

The Mazda2 G15 Pure is a well-equipped five-door city hatch. The Pure is at the entry level of the Mazda2’s three model grades – covering the G15 Pure, G15 Evolve and G15 GT – and the only specification that supports a manual transmission. Automatic is optional, while all other 2020 Mazda2 variants are auto-only. The Mazda2’s main rivals have historically sp...

The Mazda2 has been, to my thinking, the best light car in its class. That doesn't mean it's the cheapest - it isn't - but its mix of styling, engineering and safety mean you know where your money has gone. The plucky 2 continues to duke it out with the all-conquering Toyota Yaris, the VW Polo and all manner of Euro and Asian competition. Things sure have ch...

Forget cheap and cheerful, small cars are moving upmarket. Mazda has taken the entry-level Mazda 2 and given it a fancier makeover for 2020.  There’s more standard equipment, new trim options, and a more mature face on the outside. Prices have risen across the board though, and the engine has been given an incredibly mild update.  Does the mid-life refresh m...

I've found the Mazda 2 to be everything I want in a small car. Its performance is great. I did buy the top of the range with the front and rear cameras. The front camera can be a bit annoying as it beeps when still a fair distance from the object passing, even when parking beside long grass.

Excellent. It has lived up to our expectations. It is nice to drive and all the bells and whistles make driving a real pleasure. We have had no problems at all. It is economical to run and comfortable to travel in. Ballarat Mazda have been great to deal with, and nothing has been a problem to them. Thank you for your support! Peter
