• Is the Mazda 2 a good car?

Competing against the likes of the Volkswagen Polo, Toyota Yaris and Honda Jazz, the Mazda 2 faces stiff competition, but it still emerges towards the front of the class.

• Why was the Mazda 2 discontinued?

  The Mazda 2 has not been discontinued, rather, certain variants from the line-up have been phased out, including the Genki, MAXX and Neo. These models were among the more affordable options in the Mazda 2 range, with the brand moving towards a more upmarket and comprehensive offering complete with the latest safety technology. The current Mazda 2 line-up features the G15 Pure, G15 Evolve and G15 GT, with the Pure and GT available as either a hatch or sedan, while the Evolve is only available as a hatch.

• Is a Mazda 2 rear wheel drive?

  No, the Mazda 2 is actually a front-wheel drive car. In fact, not many hatchbacks are available as rear-wheel drive as they are usually pitched to buyers as more family-friendly and practical units for inner-city driving. A RWD configuration actually takes away some of the interior space of a car, and generally leads to higher prices as well. Of course, some performance-oriented hatchbacks over time have come with RWD, but it is a rare inclusion!
