Across the Maserati range, the GranTurismo would have to be right up there as one of the most-desirable models the company has built. And not just recently, but dating back to its origins. There is a lot to love about this car, and it encapsulates the best aspects of the Maserati brand, while also addressing some of the shortfalls over the years, including far-improved reliability here. The GranTurismo boasts exceptional character, and if that matters, you won't have any reservations about the worth of this unit.
It's not to say that all Maseratis are unreliable, but the brand does have a bit of a stigma when it comes to reliability issues, at least compared with other high-end makes. It's hard to exactly pinpoint the reasons for the below-average reliability, but the company is a low-volume producer and doesn't operate mass-production facilities like some of its auto industry peers, who in turn improve their reliability through that process. At the same time, the niche and exotic status of these cars means they are expensive to maintain and repair, and that can lead to delayed care that exacerbates problems.
