PMC Says...

Lexus RX300
Under a new name, the Lexus RX300 has taken on a life of its own. Previously known as the RX200t, the luxury SUV otherwise shares all the same perks as before, only this time in the 2019 version it incorporates a slew of modern additions. Whereas the bigger RX350 opts for AWD, here it’s front-wheel drive or bust, as the Japanese auto-maker takes to pitching this as a strong and dedicated on-road alternative to the BMW X5 and Audi Q7. Safety is underpinned by lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, AEB, lane-keep assist, rear-cross traffic alerts and an impressive, ten airbags. Other touches of amenity see drivers greeted with a heads-up display, sat-nav, keyless operation and dual-zone climate control. In using a 2L turbo-four, the RX300 has a wealth of pep and vitality. It may not have the extra gears found in the RX350, but the six-speed transmission performs solidly, while handling and ride comfort are generous to all five occupants on board. There’s also a crisp and enchanting interior, which reinforces just why this SUV forges its way into the popular RX series.
