Find out the Kia Soul 2020 price today!
One of the more unique designs that the Australian new car market has seen, the Kia Soul, no longer sold locally, was a small SUV-like hatchback. Offering the best of both worlds as far as hatchbacks and SUVs, that meant above-average cargo space, high levels of convenience and practicality, plus a high-riding design.
Like with Kia's other cars, the Soul is capable of about 300,000 kilometres of useful life. However, that will depend on regular maintenance and upkeep of this little gem. So on that front, you will need to make sure you follow the service interval, and also address any gremlins as soon as possible. The Kia Soul never sold particularly well across Australia, so you might be hard pressed to find one on the second-hand market, and if you do, make sure you inspect how well it has been maintained.
Amid low sales volume, Kia Australia made the decision to withdraw the Soul from the local car market. Despite its edgy appeal, the Soul registered just over 800 sales in its last full year of contribution to the auto-maker's sales tally. The Kia Soul still lives on overseas, and some discussion has centred on a return of the Kia Soul to Australia in electric vehicle format, although nothing has transpired on that front as yet.
Korean car maker Kia will eventually be spoiled for choice when not one but two electric cars arrive in Australian showrooms some time in 2021, about a year later than originally planned. However, they likely won’t come cheap if European pricing is a guide. In Germany the Kia E-Soul city hatch (pictured below) starts from €33,990 (A$54,500) while the slightl...
View ReviewThe world needs more cars like the Kia Soul EV. Australia, too. It’s a battery-electric car that looks like fun, drives well, is sized right and promises to be good value. Right now, it’s clearly aimed at the USA and youthful early adopters. Even so, Kia Australia is committed to releasing at least two electric cars Down Under by 2021, and the new Soul EV ci...
View ReviewAlexander Stoklosa • If you can picture rhythmic, life-size anthropomorphic hamsters, it is (hopefully) because of Kia's catchy marketing effort for the Soul subcompact crossover. We won't judge you if it isn't. Perhaps the Soul is familiar because one recently whisked you from a bar after being summoned by a ride-hailing app. Or, maybe, you or someone you k...
View ReviewAlfa Romeo has been hard at work refining the Giulia. The engineers in Turin have updated the infotainment, interior trim, and driver assists to make its beautiful sports sedan a better rival for its German foes – and they’ve done a pretty good job of it. But the more mundane, mainstream Giulia isn’t what the red-blooded Alfisti want to know about. They want...
