There is also an above average level of space in the rear compared with both its peers and SUVs in the small size category. The 4-cylinder 2L engine pumps out 112kW and 192Nm, which makes for a spry and chirpy level of movement. Elsewhere, the handling and suspension ensure the car always feels planted to the road. It’s glaring that the Soul has struggled in Australia, but not for reasons concerning performance. Now, more than ever, it presents a rousing ownership opportunity.
One of the more unique designs that the Australian new car market has seen, the Kia Soul, no longer sold locally, was a small SUV-like hatchback.
