Find out the Infiniti Q30 2019 price today!
The Q30 is a solid car, really setting the bar for quality and not just coming across as an overpriced Nissan. It is a premium unit right throughout, with refined dynamics, and an upmarket cabin with nice touches. Comfort is one of the strong points of the Q30, although if you want something with a little more space in the rear, or the boot for that matter, you have other options. Rounded out with an impressive safety package, and near best-in-class visibility of the road, the Q30 makes a lasting impression despite no longer being sold in Australia.
The Q30 was produced by Infiniti, which is the luxury marque of Japanese auto manufacturer Nissan. It was established in 1989, with the company's headquarters located in Yokohama, Japan. Although it may not have the big-name brand appeal as other high-end makes like BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi, among others, Infiniti is a top-tier luxury auto-maker. The Infiniti range has been produced in Japan and the UK, with the brand's vehicles exported to a number of markets around the world. Sadly, Australia is no longer one of those markets, with the brand withdrawing from the local car market in 2020. The Q30 leveraged the expertise and mechanical components of Mercedes-Benz, with the car based on the Mercedes A-Class.
The Q30 is no longer in production, with the company pulling the model from the UK and European markets at the end of model year 2019, which translated into model year 2020 for Australia. Just like the QX30, which was an adaptation of this model but designed as a higher-riding crossover, the Q30 was ultimately discontinued because it did not sell enough units. If you are lucky enough to find one on the second-hand market, make sure you inspect its condition closely. Also refer to the Personal Property Securities Register to ensure it hasn't been written-off and doesn't have finance still owing on it.
Compact crossovers are selling like hotcakes at the moment, in both the mainstream and premium markets. Keen to cash in, the folks at Infiniti hatched (heh) a plan. Rather than spending big bucks developing its own platform, it turned to Mercedes-Benz and set about rebadging the GLA-Class to create the Q30 and QX30. The result is a car with a number of simil...
View ReviewWelcome to the future - where your Mercedes-Benz is a Nissan and your Nissan is a Mercedes-Benz. Lost already? Let me catch you up. Infiniti is the premium arm of Nissan, in much the same way Lexus is the premium arm of Toyota, and the Q30 is Infiniti’s hatchback. Thanks to the state of various global manufacturing alliances the Q30 is mechanically, largel...
View ReviewSo apparently the car you’re seeing in the pics here is actually an SUV, and not a hatchback. Confused? Us too, a little bit. Infiniti – the luxury arm of Nissan that’s been around for about 20 years – insists, though, that the Q30 is a small SUV. There is a bit of justification for the claim. The Q30 is a product of a collab between Mercedes-Benz and Nissan...
