Find out the Hyundai Veloster 2020 price today!
Even if you're not a fan of the distinctive styling, you'll come around to the Hyundai Veloster once you've sat inside this beautiful unit and taken it for a spin. Compared with its nearest peer in the i30, the Veloster adds so much more depth and substance, enough to justify its dearer price-tag at any level throughout the range. The engine line-up is athletic, making this a fun and exciting car to drive, while the safety and equipment list runs deep. With more practicality than a coupe, and much-improved ride quality, the Veloster is the ideal daily-driver.
Hyundai has markedly improved the Veloster in recent years, with this latest version the best yet. In terms of downsides, you'll either love or hate the unique three-door configuration, but in our view, there is enhanced practicality as a result, but room in the back seat is somewhat cramped for adults. Rear-view visibility is not the greatest, and the factory headlights are not quite as effective as those found in other cars, but otherwise, there isn't a whole lot here that should put you off.
Prices for the new Hyundai Veloster range from $29,780 for the entry-level variant all the way up to $43,410 for the top-of-the-range Veloster Turbo Premium TTR. Prices are based on the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price, meaning the driveaway price will be higher after accounting for on-road costs, dealer delivery and stamp duty. The Veloster is only available with a petrol engine, however, you can choose between a 2.0-litre motor in the base variants or a 1.6-litre turbo across the other versions on offer.
It was less than a week after I collected the 2020 Hyundai Veloster Turbo, when CarAdvice broke the news that the model was being discontinued in Australia. Like going on a first date with someone, only to have them tell you they're moving overseas. The Veloster never really found a strong foothold in Australia, with just 639 new-car buyers in 2020. Not bad...
View ReviewThe Hyundai Veloster is a car the punters either love or hate. When the first generation arrived on the scene, the seven-day test vehicle at the time – finished in lime green – was the subject of many glances from passersby. For this new model, Hyundai has toned down the styling, and homogenised it too, but what the Veloster may have lost in distinctiveness...
View ReviewIt’s safe to say that my little family of two is in the target market for Hyundai’s Veloster. Young salaried professionals at a life stage where they could perhaps be considering their first brand new vehicle, with no family extension plans, at least for the time being. My partner, incidentally, is also considering replacing her first-generation 2008 Hyundai...
View ReviewThe 2020 Hyundai Veloster Turbo Premium's time in the CarAdvice garage is up. We had initially planned to do a few extra things with this car, such as go to the racetrack for a cheeky lap or two, as well as partake in a bit of touring through country New South Wales. However, we took delivery of this car at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, which made some...
View ReviewWe live in a time of strange body styles. Forget conventional sedans and hatchbacks, it’s all about four-door coupes and crossovers with sloping roofs. But even among the crowd of niche-busting specials, the 2020 Hyundai Veloster stands out. With two doors on the passenger side and just one on the driver side, it’s the only car of its kind on the market in...
View ReviewIt’s clear the new Hyundai Veloster Turbo is a very different beast from the moment you hit the start button. The engine wakes with a growl and stutters into an unsettled idle, like it’s struggling to get going. It’s a display of attitude and intention way beyond anything offered by the first Veloster. That was a strange car, the very definition of ‘fine’. I...
